Even after they finish starting up these programs will run in background, consuming your tablet memory. This is why your tablet PC runs sluggishly. Eliminate all except for necessary programs on start up and feel the difference.

Sometimes, junk files can also lead to a slow speed of the tablet. The only way to get rid of such junk files to make it faster is to ensure that you eliminate them from the computer’s cache by logging on its programs option. Just remove all those programs from your PC, which you do not use at all. The unrequited services on a tablet PC can also be deleted through typing “msconfig” in the run box on the startup menu.

However, in most cases, the corrupt or damaged registry entries are the major causes which lead to the slow performance of tablet PC. When you download any file or remove them, when you install or remove program, and when you install your hardware or remove them. Your registry keeps a record and it becomes redundant. It may also become broken. This is why your computer is becoming slower and slower. You might also get some error reports on your tablet PC. All of this slows down your tablet PC significantly and it will get worse.

FAQs about Verizon iPhone

Do you feel like have hundreds of thousands of questions about the new Verizon iphone? Well, here are some FAQs I have been found on TIP, and here they are:

 

What does the Verizon iPhone cost?
With a two-year contract, it’s $199 for 16GB and $299 for 32GB.

Do I have to sign up for a 2-year contract to get it?
Only if you want the $199/$299 subsidized prices. If you’re willing to pay the full retail price, you can buy the CDMA iPhone 4 and use it on Verizon without a long-term contract.

If I get one on contract, is there some sort of minimum service and data plan required?
Yes. iPhone users have to have one of the Nationwide plans. A data plan is also required. Pricing on that will be announced later.

I’m an existing Verizon customer. Can I use my “New Every Two” credit toward the iPhone?
You sure can.

When can I get it?
Pre-orders for existing Verizon Wireless customers will be opened on a “first come, first serve” basis online only at VerizonWireless.com at or around February 3. (The week prior, Verizon will confirm details.)

The carrier posted the following on its website — “AN EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY FOR VERIZON WIRELESS CUSTOMERS: Get an iPhone 4 from our reserved quantity before they’re available to everyone else. Sign up for more details.”

Orders will be open to new customers on February 10, available via Verizon or Apple retail stores.

I’ve got an AT&T iPhone. Can I use it on Verizon?
Nope. If it were that easy, this arrangement would’ve happened a long time ago. Verizon uses CDMA, AT&T’s is a GSM network, and they aren’t cross compatible. In a nutshell:

• Verizon’s CDMA network: Very strong in many areas of the country, but no simultaneous voice and data. Also, since there’s no SIM card with a CDMA phone, the only way global functionality works is by signing on for international roaming rates via Verizon Wireless.

• AT&T’s GSM network: Also strong in certain areas of the country, but has a bad reputation for uneven service (which could change, now that it’s not solely shouldering the iPhone load). However, as a GSM phone, customers can use this abroad with a compatible SIM (MicroSIM) card.

So it’s not a 4G/LTE iPhone? 
Nope, sorry. This is 3G CDMA only for now.

Will I lose my voicemails, apps and other data if I switch from an AT&T iPhone to a Verizon one?
Your voice mails won’t transfer over, but you can back that up and save them. As for apps, iTunes back-up and sync makes it possible to move all your data and applications over to the new handset. (If you’re moving from another Verizon handset, though, your apps won’t transfer over. They’ll be lost. Some might be available for separate purchase via the App Store, some won’t be.)

Speaking of apps, will there be Verizon Wireless apps put on the iPhone 4?
3G Mobile Hotspot comes pre-installed. And apps, like VZ Navigator and V CAST Media Manager, will be available “in the market.” (Verizon must mean the App Store. Guys, you’re an iPhone carrier now, not just Android. The lingo’s a little different, k?) In fact, Apple’s Phil Schiller specifically addressed this, saying there won’t be a bunch of “bloatware” on the ViPhone. Apple’s own Phil Schiller assured the press that Verizon would not be loading up the device with crapware, too. “We want the experience to be the same for every iPhone user. So there are no special Verizon Apps preinstalled.”

Will Verizon Wireless be able to handle the big data load of all these new iPhone subscribers? Or will it buckle, like AT&T did?
No way to know for sure, but here what the carrier’s website says: “Verizon Wireless has invested more than $60 billion since it was formed – $5.7 billion on average every year – to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services. Verizon Wireless’ ‘most reliable network’ claim is based on network studies conducted by test men and women who drive 100 specially-equipped vehicles more than 1 million miles annually to test network performance, call quality, and data network performance. Verizon Wireless uses the results of its frequent network tests to maintain and fine-tune the company’s network on a regular basis as part of its ongoing quality maintenance programs and annual capacity planning.”

What version of iOS will the Verizon iPhone launch with?

Nintendo 3DS Being Honest for Warning

Nintendo 3DS, the latest handheld gaming system from Nintendo, utilizes glasses-free 3D technology, will be released in US by March. And late last month, Nintendo posted a warning notice on its website which said that t the forthcoming 3DS handset could cause children under the age of six a potential impact on the growth on their eyes.

 

According to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, Nintendo was only being honest. “We are being proactive about informing our customer, even though it may not necessarily be positive for our sales,” Iwata said.

Iwata admitted that “concerns over possible litigation” was one of the reasons for this warning. Would this gesture hamper the sale of Nintendo 3DS? Well, I don’t think so. This is much the same with the warning notice on the cigarette packs which says smoking is harmful to your health. Smokers all know that, but that doesn’t affect the fact that numbers of smokers are growing every year. For Nintendo fans, 3DS would bring them a more intuitive and exciting game experience, that’s what they would care about. The warning notice? Some may even don’t notice that.

 

But for Nintendo, this small gesture shows how much they care about the consumers. And some may think they put customers’ benefit in front of their profit, which would help them create a great company image. Even better, this may cause an effect of ‘hunger marketing’, which means people would be more eager for Nintendo 3DS’s launch since this notice.

 

Anyway, the honest gesture Nintendo made here is appreciated. But I’m quite positive that it won’t be negative for their sales.

Why Apple and Verizon Pick Each Other

It is said that iPhone on Verizon is on the schedule, and it would immediately become the carrier’s top model, eating up market shares of other devices, including Android licensees and RIM’s BlackBerry. So, did it ever came to your mind that why Apple and Verizon picked each other to be the partner?

 Profits are the direct drive for all the merchants. I’m pretty sure this applies here, too. Verizon is one of the biggest network carriers in America. Although Verizon has a smaller mix of smartphone users compared to AT&T, it would make Apple access to 93.2 million customers. Working with Verizon would allow Apple to vastly increase its iPhone sales without major losses at AT&T, which has expressed confidence that it can retain its existing users. And according to John Hodulik, if Verizon can sell 13 million iphones this year, it would give iphone an additional $5.2 billion in sales.

 In 2007, Apple has successfully helped AT&T to gain and retain new smartphone customers since launching the iPhone exclusively with that carrier in the US. It is quite positive that Apple would enlarge the smart phone market share for Verizon, and it may upgrade a larger percentage of Verizon’s subscribers to data plans.

 So this new cooperation is definitely a win-win for the two companies. And I’m just quite eager for the release of Verizon iPhone, and I’m curious about how it would go.

We all get weak and fragile when we get old. Our eyes can’t see clearly, our ears can’t hear clearly, and we always get an ache on the muscles or other joints… Well, I think the troubles of aging are hundreds of thousands of times worse than we can imagine. We are not old yet, but our folks are. And how many of you are living with them? Except the troubles in life, they are mostly very lonely, they miss their dearest daughters and sons who are living and working far away in the city. We can’t offer companions to them, but at least we can get something to help them live an easier life.  Here I’m going to share some useful gadgets for the seniors with you guys.

Would Verizon Get Full Hands on Android?

CES2011 is drawing near, although a lot of people have been waiting for iphone on Verizon, shocking news seems have broken the expectation. The latest news said that Verizon had declared to push at least four 4G phones and one tablet PC on the CES2011, shockingly, not one of them is iphone, and instead, they are all based on Google Android.

 

Verizon is America’s largest national carrier. Early in last December Verizon announced its 4G network which is our familiar LTE network. And last month, it was only provided for laptop users. But this is supposed to change in this Thursday, at that time Ivan Seidenberg, the Verizon CEO, would make a speech and Verizon would hold a press conference to release more details about the products in the following afternoon.

According to Wall Street Journal, the 4 smart phones Verizon would release in the CES2011 are from Motorola, Samsung, LG and HTC.

 

It seems Verizon is going to work with Google instead of Apple. Actually this shouldn’t be much surprising, because Verizon has had Android phone for a year. This has become a strong strategy to compete with AT&T.

 

Although the rumors about Verizon iPhone have been overwhelming on the internet, some even thought iphone 4 based on 4G network would appear on the CES2011, Apple just don’t want to make this announcement in the beginning of this year. And now according to the current situation, Verizon seems have chosen Google rather than Apple.

 

When would Verizon sell Android 4G smart phone or iPhone? According to Wall Street Journal, Android 4G smart phones would be officially released early this year. But last year Lowell McAdam suggested Verizon 4G smart phones would be at the store shelf at the end of the first season in 2011. So which one is more reliable?

E008 E-book Reader Review: It’s A Multimedia Player!

The other day I had the honor to test a new product from PickEgg – an E-book reader. Actually on their website it is called Cool E008 4GB 7-inch E-book Reader MP3 MP4 MP5 player E-book Reading with FM. Yes, it’s really a multi-functional digital device which is more than just an E-book reader.

 This e-book is said to have the lowest price among other ebook devices with similar quality. And the design is quite great with all the buttons around the screen. I think buttons are a little too many. But when I browse the menu, I realized the purpose of the number keypad. Applications on the menu are listed and tagged from 1 to 9, and you can select any one just by tapping the corresponding keypad. Or, you can also use the up/down buttons on the right of the screen, that is really your call.

At the first sight I thought this was another tablet PC which is a new trend since Apple’s iPad. Actually this device is featured ebook reader function. when I hold it, this ebook reader feels great, kind of sturdy but lightweight. Its 7” TFT-LCD screen is convenient for reading. Of course it’s also great to watch video and stuff. As a professional ebook reader, this device can support almost all the popular ebook file formats such as TXT, HTML, PDF, EPUB, DOC, PPT, PB2, MOBI, RTF, etc. with the buttons right next to the screen, it’s quite easy to turn to the next page while you’re absorbed in the story.

 

As a multifunctional device, it can also be used as a media player to satisfy your entertainment need. As an mp3 player, it supports MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC, OGG, APE file format. The sound quality cannot be compared with the professional ones like iPod, but to be objective, the sound quality is pretty nice. If you are not very picky about the sound quality, then I’m sure you will be satisfied with this one. If you love videos, it also supports popular video formats like MKV\AVI\RM\RMVB\VOB\DAT\MP4\FLV\3GP. If the built-in 4GB memory doesn’t meet your need, then you can always extend it up to 16GB by TF card.

 

Ok, that’s the main functions I have tested. And there’re also some other functions you might be interested. It doesn’t come with a camera, but you can browse pictures and photos, the default images look clear and nice. Besides, it also comes with audio recorder function, and FM radio function, which are some kind basic functions of all the modern digital devices.

 

Conclusion

 As a professional e-book reader, this device has got the wide screen and convenient buttons. And it is built with all the other functions to meet different needs. The only not so wonderful thing is, it is not a touch screen. But, hey, it’s only $95.99! So this E008 is a pretty good option.

Voltage: the electricity volume delivered to your computer.

Watts: the amount of energy a device uses. It will be found on the monitor and laptop PC, instead of battery.

How to calculate the battery run time?

If you know how many watts the laptop computer uses and the total power capacity the battery has, you could calculate. Here is the equation:

Watt-Hours = Volts x Milliamperes

Run Time = Watt-Hours/Laptop labeled watts.

If a battery has higher milliamp (mAh), will it harm the laptop?

Not at all. The voltage will remain the same though the rate of mAh is high. The higher the rate, the longer the battery will be used after a full charge.

How to optimize laptop battery performance?

Condition (fully charge and discharge) the new battery 2 to 3 times in order to let it arrive its maximum rated capacity.

Use the battery to run laptop at least once a month even you get used to using AC power directly.

Clean the metal connector at intervals. You could use alcohol or Electronics Cleaner Degreaser to clean.
